UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE, VERLA GROUNDWOOD AND BOARD MILL

This UNESCO World Heritage Site at Verla, is a perfectly preserved historical monument of Finnish industry. The Mill was closed in 1964, and offers visitors a perfect timecapsul of how Finland become one of the richest countries in Northern Europe as it produced packing boards which were then exported as far afield, as all of Europe and North America. The Tentsile Camp is situated right across the river from the old Mill and Factory.
